Eating machine; back to work
Braden eats non-stop! Before, we were feeding him breast milk, then half a bottle of formula (the latter to help get rid of his mild jaundice). Now, he breast feeds, has the formula (some times the whole bottle), then has another round of breast milk.
The good news is that his bilirubin levels have finally declined. The bad news is that feeding him takes 1.5 hours or longer. After his next appointment (Wednesday), we are hoping he cuts back to just one round of breast milk, and that’s it. We are already worried how much he will eat when he becomes a teen.
Brian went back to work today. His bosses have been very nice and accommodate his needs (e.g. if he has to run home). However, Brian is continuing to work a lot from home when Braden sleeps, so he’s not falling behind.
Despite a few hours’ sleep, Brian still was alert and functional at work. We’ll see how long that lasts!
OK. I feel like a jerk. Your beautiful baby is already almost a week old and I just discovered this evening, February 9, that the blessed event already took place! First, let me say congratulations to you and Kristin. You have the cutest baby ever, but you already know that! Second, I’m only mildly offended that you didn’t select one of the names I suggested (hey, what’s wrong with Plaxico Lee?) Third, I’m extremely proud of you for changing a poopy diaper. Before we give you an award of excellence for this feat, let me tell you that I would have changed a million diapers if I didn’t have to teach my son to drive. And finally, let me say again, congratulations. I’m thrilled that you have a beautiful and healthy son. As the mom of a 26-year-old, I guarantee your son will be your greatest joy and most precious gift. Hope to see Braden at an upcoming PRSA meeting!
